Parking in Los Angeles has become increasingly hard to come by, and hairier and hairier as far as potential tickets and tows go. It helps to know LA parking tricks and tips and to obtain some expert parking advice from locals, particularly if you're new in town. In Los Angeles Municipal Court Traffic Division, a front plate fix-it citation costs $20; there are penalty assessments too, plus the $8 the DMV charges for new plates. That $20 ticket?
My question involves a parking ticket from the state of: CA
This ticket was happened last year at 1:22 pm in Oct, 2011
It was happened in Los Angeles City which I would not go there during normal business hours as I was working.
Somebody was using a fake business plate and I was the real owner. The villain parked in a handicapped parking and an officer asked him to move. They had a brief altercation and villain left quickly before the office could hand him a ticket physically. The officer was only able to get the license plate without the vin#. A ticket was sent to my mailing address, but I was not living there at the time. In fact, I was out of the country for 4 weeks starting on Oct 23rd, 2011. I was notified by my uncle 2 weeks later telling me to respond to the ticket. For the scan email, the letter came with contesting instructions and I followed the instructions and went online to file my contest. I thought the contest went through and I did not do anything. Just two months ago, I received a letter saying that I owed $435.00 with penalty for not responding or something. I was frustrated and did not know what was going on. I immediately wrote the City a letter contesting the charge, two times in July, 2012. Each time, the letter just states that 'you must request an Administrative Hearing and submit payment of the amount due on the citation within 21 calendar days following the mailing of the initial review decision.' When I thought my contest online, I thought it was over. I did not receive any letter besides the recent request of payment. PLEASE HELP as it is really rediculous here besides I did not commit any offense. I am a victim here. To add insult to my injury, I have to pay. Please advise what should I do. I don't want to pay, if I have no choice paying may be the only option. PLEASE ADVISE.
Bought an Infiniti this year. They don't come with the front licence plate fixed. Tonight had my car parked in San Francisco and I got a 'friendly' $105 ticket for 'No Plates'. Can a city parking officer cite thisThank you for the quick responses. Would I qualify for 'Fix It ' status. I didnt know this existed but read the back of the citation & google led me to this[end] 'Fix-it' (Compliance) Tickets: If you have been cited for VC5200 'no plates' or VC5204A 'expired tags' you may provide proof of compliance/correction and pay a $10 transaction fee. For a 'no plates' violation, have the plate(s) affixed to your vehicle and have any law enforcement officer sign off on the back of the ticket. If you do not still have the ticket available you may use our downloadable form (.PDF). Be sure to write the citation number on your check, and send proof of compliance/correction with the $10 fee to: (San Francisco address)
Less'>The California Vehicle Code says that vehicles issued with two license plates must display them both (CVC 5200). So, one important question here is: regardless of whether the front license plate was fixed when you bought the car, did the DMV ISSUE two plates for this car?
CVC 11713.17 may also be applicable to your case - it deals with what dealers must do when selling you your car.
Yes, California requires front and back license plates. I know if will not keep the look of the car as you want it but you will continue to run into issues until you remedy the issue.

In response to your additional information you are correct. Get the plates mounted correctly, go to a police station and ask an officer to sign off on the ticket. Follow the other procedures you describe and this should take care of it.
